For me, sustainability is achievable perfection. Beyond being a buzzword, Sustainable development is the development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Long story short, to be sustainable something has to be good for the people, good for the planet and affordable. Long term prosperity depends on our ability to start creating the proper way, developing a circular economy.

Climate Change

In the last one hundred years, we cared more about people prosperity in the short term, so we traded the safety of our home - Planet for speed and comfort. Now we started to see the consequences and understand the danger, and we have 11 years left to reduce CO2 emissions with 45 percent below 2010 levels by 2030 and reaching net zero emissions by 2050. Reducing CO2 emissions is everybody’s, and there are lots of actions everyone can take to address the biggest threat to our survival.

Cities

Today 54% of Earth’s 7 billion people are living in cities. Even though it is occupying just 2% of our planet’s terrain, it is responsible for 75% of worlds energy consumption, 80% of CO2 emissions and it is generating 80% of global GDP. In the next 30 years, urbanization combined with overall population growth will boost the number of inhabitants in cities by 2.5 billion.


Homes

Homes are a large part of our universe as 50% of our life we spent at home with family or friends. Housing is the most significant investment and the biggest monthly costs for individuals of families. In the European Union, houses are responsible for 40% of energy consumption and 36% of CO2 emissions. A house needs a lot of different materials, some of them are polluting the environment, while some are toxic for the people living inside. We need better homes.


Industry 4.0, Education & Future of...

In the next 25 years, around 47% of today’s jobs will disappear, and 85% of jobs that will exist in 2030 haven’t been invented yet. Technology will transform products, organizations: the way we design, make and build, use and maintain. Furthermore, it will change us: how we consume, produce or feel. Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Nanotechnology together with Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality will disrupt all industries, from health to accounting or space travel. Future of … is built today.


Energy

With six out of every ten people on Earth expected to live in urban areas by 2030, urban mobility is key to the sustainable development of our cities. Mobility of people, goods, services is more challenging than ever before. When we talk about humans mobility we have to take into consideration: the time we waste, the price we pay, the pollution and emissions we generate and the safety of us and others.
